April always feels like a great month for art. With flowers blooming and birds singing, it’s the perfect time to step outside, soak up inspiration, and share more of what’s happening in my studio.
One of the highlights this month was having my drawing Feeling All My Feelings juried into a local art show at the performing arts center here in town. It’s a statewide exhibition that brings in submissions from artists all over Texas, so being selected is always an honor.
This was my third time entering... and my third time being juried in! The opening reception happened to fall on an unusually cold spring day, but the energy inside was warm, welcoming, and full of creativity.

I also introduced something new: my very first limited-time framed Mother’s Day art print. The print was a variation of my red hibiscus flower drawing, which felt like the perfect piece to celebrate the holiday.
The hibiscus flower symbolize beauty, femininity, and delicate strength so it was perfect for the occasion.
It was exciting to create a special release for Mother’s Day, and I’m already planning a few more of these seasonal offerings.

If you missed that limited-time print but are still shopping for Mother’s Day (or something thoughtful for another moment), check out my Mother’s Day Gift Guide. I’ve curated art-inspired gift ideas based on different interests to make choosing something meaningful a little easier.
And here’s a fun studio update: I recently finished my latest drawing of the morning glories. I’m still deciding on the title. Naming art is always an interesting part of the process for me. Sometimes it comes naturally, and other times… not so much.
